IAPA's Safety Group, Together We're Better

Good things happen when we join together for the common purpose of reducing injuries and illnesses. That's the concept behind the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board’s Safety Groups Program. Firms join together to plan health and safety prevention measures and incorporate them into their daily business.

The results: a potential reduction in lost time injury frequencies  and severity rates.
The reward: a potential for premium rebates for all members of the Safety Group.

If you are a Schedule 1 employer with a firm size of 20 or more employees and in good standing with the WSIB, you’re eligible to join IAPA’s sponsored Safety Group.

The Group's Success Becomes Your Success

The concept is simple.  At the start of the year firms come together to form a regional chapter with in the Provincial Safety Group. From a list of safety elements provided by the WSIB, each Safety Group member  selects five elements to initiate or improve upon in their workplace.  The Safety Group members then work together to implement their selected safety elements, attending at least three out of five facilitated one-day meetings throughout the year.
